We have two series of high-speed centrifuges available in the instrument center: the Avanti J-25 and Avanti J-26 models. The maximum speeds for these models are 25,000rpm (75,600g) and 26,000rpm (81,770g) respectively. Although there are slight differences in centrifugal force and operation mode between the two models, their applications are similar.&lt;br />&#xd;
&lt;br />&#xd;
High-speed centrifuges are typically used for the preliminary purification of samples. These samples are often large volumes and contain a high level of impurities. When using this instrument, users usually refer to methods found in literature or experimental procedures. Select the appropriate rotor and centrifuge bottle based on the required centrifugal force and sample volume to achieve better experimental results.&lt;br />&#xd;
&lt;br />&#xd;
Furthermore, since different samples are dissolved in different buffers with varying pH and other physical chemistry properties, it is essential to carefully select centrifuge bottles made of various materials to prevent breakage during centrifugation. This is crucial for ensuring the safety of personnel and instruments.&lt;/div>&#xd;

	&lt;li class="ed_txt">After watching the video &amp;quot;&lt;a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZkK0l9-YPMc" rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank" title="Basic Principles of Centrifuge(Open New Windows)">Basic Principles of Centrifuge&lt;/a>,&amp;quot;&amp;nbsp;you must call the center at least 3 days in advance (on-campus extension 62382) to make an appointment with the center staff to take a written test (you can bring your own notes for reference).&amp;nbsp;Only those who pass the test with a score of 80 or above can participate in the center staff&amp;#39;s hands-on teaching. Only those who have completed the above procedures will be qualified to operate the centrifuge.&lt;/li>&#xd;
	&lt;li class="ed_txt">&lt;strong>Written test location:&lt;/strong> the Instrumentation Resource Center office on the 4th floor,&amp;nbsp;Biomedical Engineering Building, or the 7th floor, Biomedical Building.&amp;nbsp;Extension. 62382.&lt;/li>&#xd;

&lt;div class="ed_txt">&lt;strong>Rules of Use&lt;/strong>&lt;/div>&#xd;

&lt;ol>&#xd;
	&lt;li class="ed_txt">High-speed centrifuges should be reserved for priority use. If no reservation is made, they will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. The use of the centrifuges must be registered and should not be interrupted for more than 20 minutes. This is to ensure that other users have a fair chance to use the equipment. Otherwise, it will be considered as giving up the right to use the centrifuges.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/li>&#xd;
	&lt;li class="ed_txt">Reservations are limited to 2 sessions (including the in-use session), with a maximum duration of 1 hour per session and no interruptions of more than 20 minutes.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/li>&#xd;
	&lt;li class="ed_txt">Please remember to record your name, time of use, conditions, and ROTOR model number in the registration book.&lt;/li>&#xd;
	&lt;li class="ed_txt">Store the centrifugal rotor in a refrigerator at 4℃. Please return and invert it to its original position according to the model and serial numbers.&lt;/li>&#xd;
	&lt;li class="ed_txt">If the instrument or accessories are dirty after use, please clean them to maintain the equipment properly.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/li>&#xd;
	&lt;li class="ed_txt">If improper use causes damage to the instrument, rotor, or other accessories, the user will be responsible for paying the compensation price.&lt;/li>&#xd;

In most cases, samples that are to be sent to the ultracentrifuge have already undergone some initial purification steps. After that, they need to undergo additional steps to obtain purer samples with ultracentrifuge.&lt;br />&#xd;

Ultracentrifuges are equipped with four types of rotors to meet different sample requirements:&lt;/div>&#xd;

	&lt;li class="ed_txt">&lt;strong>Fixed Angle Rotor&lt;/strong>: Mainly used for rapid separation of plasma DNA, subcellular particles, and fractions, as well as lipoproteins, viruses, and microsomes.&lt;/li>&#xd;
	&lt;li class="ed_txt">&lt;strong>Vertical-Tube Rotor:&lt;/strong> This rotor is mainly used for rapid separation of the density gradient, a technique where particles are separated based on their density; isopycnic centrifugation, a method that separates particles of equal density, and rate-zonal centrifugation, a process that separates particles based on their sedimentation rate.&lt;/li>&#xd;
	&lt;li class="ed_txt">&lt;strong>Swinging-Bucket Rotor&lt;/strong>: Mainly used in rate-zonal or&amp;nbsp;isopycnic centrifugation of nucleic acid, protein, and virus.&lt;/li>&#xd;
