</div>Reservation and Rules<div class="ed_model01 clearfix">
<div class="ed_txt"><span style="color:#ff0000;"><span style="font-size:110%;"><strong>*Users must be certified.</strong></span></span><br />
<strong>Users should pass the certification test and operate the system more than 5 times (including) during office hours (8:30-16:30)</strong> before they are authorized to reserve online, and can use the system according to the regulations. If the certified user does not use the device for one month, he/she must be certified again by the administrator.<br />

<ol>
<li class="ed_txt"><strong>Reservation regulations</strong>:
<ul>
<li class="ed_txt">Please go to the <a href="https://ircbooking.nycu.edu.tw/IRC/irc_booking/index_en.aspx" title=""Instrument Reservation System"">"Instrument Reservation System"</a> to make a reservation before use. The person who makes the reservation must be the actual user.</li>
<li class="ed_txt">After use, please register in the record book. <strong>The start time is the reservation time, and the end time is based on the end time of use.</strong> You cannot delay the start time or occupy other people's time slots.</li>
<li class="ed_txt">Reservations cannot be canceled on the same day. Reservations made more than half an hour after the scheduled time are considered abandoned.</li>
<li class="ed_txt">No same-day reservations are accepted. Please confirm your reservation by 16:30 of the previous workday at the latest; late changes violate the rules and will not be accepted.</li>
<li class="ed_txt">Each person can make 4 reservations within two weeks, and each reservation can be made for 4 hours.</li>

<li class="ed_txt"><strong><span style="color:#e74c3c;">No USB flash drive is allowed. </span></strong>Please use FTP to transfer files or bring your blank CD-ROM to burn data. Due to the limited space of the computer's hard disk, the administrator will delete the data from time to time to facilitate the normal operation of the instrument. <span style="color:#e74c3c;">We are not responsible for data storage.</span></li>
<li class="ed_txt"><strong>Without the consent of the administrator of the Center, you are not allowed to add or remove any parts, alter the system settings, or install software on the Center's public equipment. </strong>If any experiment requires any test, the administrator's consent must be sought first and accompanied by the engineer of the original manufacturer to carry out the testing without damaging the normal operation of the equipment, and only after the passing of the test can it be operated and used by the personnel approved by the administrator of the Center under the condition of the administrator's permission.</li>
<li class="ed_txt">According to the administrator's judgment, the violator is warned for the first time, canceled the right to use for one month for the second time, and canceled the right to use permanently for the third time; if the violator violates the above specification, resulting in the damage of the instrument, the violator shall pay compensation to repair the instrument and stop the right to use for one month. The violator is prohibited from using the instrument permanently.</li>

<div class="ed_txt"><strong>Usage Rules for Total Internal Reflection Fluorescence Inverted Microscope:</strong></div>
<ol>
<li class="ed_txt">To use this equipment, you must make a reservation in advance via the <span style="color:#2980b9;">Faces Scheduling System (http://faces.ccrc.uga.edu/) </span>and confirm it by the administrator before use.</li>
<li class="ed_txt">For first-time use, please contact the administrator (ext. 56994) to apply for a user account before logging into the system for reservation.</li>
<li class="ed_txt">The management unit will organize at least one yearly seminar to provide educational training and on-site examinations. It will charge a fee for each type of training if necessary.</li>
<li class="ed_txt">A technician (assistant instructor for instrument operation) will be assigned to manage and maintain the equipment. Under the guidance of the management committee, the equipment and its surroundings will be managed, and technical support will be provided.</li>
<li class="ed_txt">General or preliminary observations should not be performed on the equipment to avoid time-consuming occupation. The use of isotopes and infectious samples is prohibited.</li>
<li class="ed_txt">Users must be educated and trained (including hands-on training) before using the instrument according to the regulations. In addition to doubling the charges, the right to use the instrument will also be terminated if there are cases of fraudulent use of other people's accounts without certification.</li>
<li class="ed_txt">If a reservation has not been canceled three days in advance, you will still be charged for the reserved time slot.</li>
<li class="ed_txt">If the machine is damaged by improper use, the person in charge of the lab will compensate for the loss.</li>
<li class="ed_txt">To maintain and improve the quality of service, those who use the images captured by this instrument in their master's thesis or journal publications should mention the instrument's name and the organization in the acknowledgment or methodology of the thesis.</li>
</ol>
<div class="ed_txt"><strong>Instructions for using the total internal reflection fluorescence inverted microscope system:</strong></div>
<ol>
<li class="ed_txt">Applicants who have attended the course on the principles of the Total Internal Reflective Fluorescent Inverted Microscope (TIRF) and the hands-on training course and have been certified by the instrument administrator are authorized to make a reservation for using TIRF.</li>
<li class="ed_txt">The fee for the TIRF inverted microscope is charged on a time basis, with the reservation time as the starting point. Reservations must be made one week in advance and canceled three days before the use date. Otherwise, the fee will still be charged according to the reserved time.</li>
<li class="ed_txt">Charges are calculated from the reserved time, and every 10 minutes or more will be counted as one hour, and delays caused by the previous user will not be counted.</li>
<li class="ed_txt">If you do not show up 30 minutes after the scheduled time, the time slot may be assigned to another person who requires it. The latter lab will be charged for the use of the machine.</li>
<li class="ed_txt">No parts may be added, system settings changed, or software installed without the approval of the instrument specialist and system engineer.</li>
<li class="ed_txt">Applicants are required to inform the instrument administrator at the time of booking of the type of samples to be used (slides, dishes, or other materials), the type of cells or animal tissues to be used, and the fluorescent (excitation/scattering) spectrum of dyes to be used. Infectious and isotopic samples are not permitted to be observed on the instrument.</li>
<li class="ed_txt">Users should check whether the system is working properly each time they use the system and register the system in the User Register after use. If there is any problem, they should notify the instrument administrator immediately to avoid disputes over the instrument's use and clarify the responsibility.</li>
<li class="ed_txt">After use, the user shall be responsible for returning the instrument to its original condition, and if any oil lens is used, it shall be cleaned, and the microscope system shall be kept clean.</li>
<li class="ed_txt">Data can only be accessed using a brand new (DVD/VCD) CD-ROM and cannot be stored in any other way.</li>
<li class="ed_txt">In case of violation of the above regulations, the administrator may suspend the right of use according to the circumstances, and the person in charge of the laboratory shall be responsible for compensation if the equipment is damaged due to human misuse.</li>
<li class="ed_txt">The applicant must fill out a statement to prove they understand the rules and regulations when using the instrument for the first time.</li>

<div class="ed_txt"><strong>Instrument training operation application instructions</strong><br />
<strong>Qualification for use:</strong></div>
<ul>
<li class="ed_txt">To use this instrument, you must attend the "TIRF Principles of Operation" and "TIRF Hands-on Training" courses and be certified by the instrument administrator before obtaining your authorization.</li>
<li class="ed_txt">You must fill in the statement the first time you use the instrument.</li>
<li class="ed_txt">Note: At least one workshop will be held annually for educational training, and the cost of various trainings will be charged if necessary.</li>
</ul>
<div class="ed_txt"><strong>Instrument Operation Reservation:</strong></div>
<ol>
<li class="ed_txt">You must reserve the instrument one week before the scheduled use date and submit the statement (for the first time).</li>
<li class="ed_txt">If you cannot use it for any reason after the reservation is confirmed, you must inform us in advance three days before the use date. <strong>Users should pass the certification test and operate the system more than 5 times (including) during office hours (8:30-16:30)</strong> before they are authorized to reserve online, and can use the system according to the regulations. Each person can make 4 reservations within two weeks, and each reservation can be made for 4 hours.</div>

<li class="ed_txt"><strong>Reservation regulations</strong>:
<ul>
<li class="ed_txt">Please go to the <a href="https://ircbooking.nycu.edu.tw/IRC/irc_booking/index_en.aspx" title=""Instrument Reservation System"">"Instrument Reservation System"</a> to make a reservation before use. The person who makes the reservation must be the actual user.</li>
<li class="ed_txt">After use, please register in the record book. The start time is the reservation time, and the end time is based on the end time of use. You cannot delay the start time or occupy other people's time slots.</li>
<li class="ed_txt">Reservations cannot be canceled on the same day. Reservations made more than half an hour after the scheduled time are considered abandoned.</li>
<li class="ed_txt">No same-day reservations are accepted. Please confirm your reservation by 16:30 of the previous workday at the latest; late changes violate the rules and will not be accepted.</li>

<li class="ed_txt"><strong><span style="color:#e74c3c;">No USB flash drive is allowed. </span></strong>Please use FTP to transfer files or bring your blank CD-ROM to burn data. Due to the limited space of the computer's hard disk, the administrator will delete the data from time to time to facilitate the normal operation of the instrument. <span style="color:#e74c3c;">We are not responsible for data storage.</span></li>
<li class="ed_txt"><strong>Without the consent of the administrator of the Center, you are not allowed to add or remove any parts, alter the system settings, or install software on the Center's public equipment. </strong>If any experiment requires any test, the administrator's consent must be sought first and accompanied by the engineer of the original manufacturer to carry out the testing without damaging the normal operation of the equipment, and only after the passing of the test can it be operated and used by the personnel approved by the administrator of the Center under the condition of the administrator's permission.</li>
<li class="ed_txt">According to the administrator's judgment, the violator is warned for the first time, canceled the right to use for one month for the second time, and canceled the right to use permanently for the third time; if the violator violates the above specification, resulting in the damage of the instrument, the violator shall pay compensation to repair the instrument and stop the right to use for one month. The violator is prohibited from using the instrument permanently.</li>

<div class="ed_txt"><span style="color:#e74c3c;"><span style="font-size:110%;"><strong>*Users must be certified.</strong></span></span><br />
<strong>Users should pass the certification test and operate the system more than 5 times (including) during office hours (8:30-16:30)</strong> before they are authorized to reserve online, and can use the system according to the regulations. If the certified user does not use the device for one month, he/she must be certified again by the administrator.<br />

<ol>
<li class="ed_txt"><strong>Reservation regulations</strong>:
<ul>
<li class="ed_txt">Please go to the <a href="https://ircbooking.nycu.edu.tw/IRC/irc_booking/index_en.aspx" title=""Instrument Reservation System"">"Instrument Reservation System"</a> to make a reservation before use. The person who makes the reservation must be the actual user.</li>
<li class="ed_txt">After use, please register in the record book. The start time is the reservation time, and the end time is based on the end time of use. You cannot delay the start time or occupy other people's time slots.</li>
<li class="ed_txt">Reservations cannot be canceled on the same day. Reservations made more than half an hour after the scheduled time are considered abandoned.</li>
<li class="ed_txt">No same-day reservations are accepted. Please confirm your reservation by 16:30 of the previous workday at the latest; late changes violate the rules and will not be accepted.</li>
<li class="ed_txt">Each person can make 4 reservations within two weeks, and each reservation can be made for 4 hours.</li>

<li class="ed_txt"><strong><span style="color:#e74c3c;">No USB flash drive is allowed. </span></strong>Please use FTP to transfer files or bring your blank CD-ROM to burn data. Due to the limited space of the computer's hard disk, the administrator will delete the data from time to time to facilitate the normal operation of the instrument. <span style="color:#e74c3c;">We are not responsible for data storage.</span></li>
<li class="ed_txt"><strong>Without the consent of the administrator of the Center, you are not allowed to add or remove any parts, alter the system settings, or install software on the Center's public equipment. </strong>If any experiment requires any test, the administrator's consent must be sought first and accompanied by the engineer of the original manufacturer to carry out the testing without damaging the normal operation of the equipment, and only after the passing of the test can it be operated and used by the personnel approved by the administrator of the Center under the condition of the administrator's permission.</li>
<li class="ed_txt">According to the administrator's judgment, the violator is warned for the first time, canceled the right to use for one month for the second time, and canceled the right to use permanently for the third time; if the violator violates the above specification, resulting in the damage of the instrument, the violator shall pay compensation to repair the instrument and stop the right to use for one month. The violator is prohibited from using the instrument permanently.</li>

<li class="ed_txt">Reservations cannot be canceled on the same day. Reservations made more than half an hour after the scheduled time are considered abandoned.</li>

<li class="ed_txt"><strong>Remember to select the corresponding lens when taking pictures to avoid the wrong scale conversion.</strong></li>
<li class="ed_txt"><strong><span style="color:#e74c3c;">No USB flash drive is allowed. </span></strong>Please use FTP to transfer files or bring your blank CD-ROM to burn data. Due to the limited space of the computer's hard disk, the administrator will delete the data from time to time to facilitate the normal operation of the instrument. <span style="color:#e74c3c;">We are not responsible for data storage.</span></li>
<li class="ed_txt"><strong>Without the consent of the administrator of the Center, you are not allowed to add or remove any parts, alter the system settings, or install software on the Center's public equipment. </strong>If any experiment requires any test, the administrator's consent must be sought first and accompanied by the engineer of the original manufacturer to carry out the testing without damaging the normal operation of the equipment, and only after the passing of the test can it be operated and used by the personnel approved by the administrator of the Center under the condition of the administrator's permission.</li>
<li class="ed_txt">According to the administrator's judgment, the violator is warned for the first time, canceled the right to use for one month for the second time, and canceled the right to use permanently for the third time; if the violator violates the above specification, resulting in the damage of the instrument, the violator shall pay compensation to repair the instrument and stop the right to use for one month. The violator is prohibited from using the instrument permanently.</li>

<li class="ed_txt"><strong><span style="color:#e74c3c;">No USB flash drive is allowed. </span></strong>Please use FTP to transfer files or bring your blank CD-ROM to burn data. Due to the limited space of the computer's hard disk, the administrator will delete the data from time to time to facilitate the normal operation of the instrument. <span style="color:#e74c3c;">We are not responsible for data storage.</span></li>
<li class="ed_txt"><strong>Without the consent of the administrator of the Center, you are not allowed to add or remove any parts, alter the system settings, or install software on the Center's public equipment. </strong>If any experiment requires any test, the administrator's consent must be sought first and accompanied by the engineer of the original manufacturer to carry out the testing without damaging the normal operation of the equipment, and only after the passing of the test can it be operated and used by the personnel approved by the administrator of the Center under the condition of the administrator's permission.</li>
<li class="ed_txt">According to the administrator's judgment, the violator is warned for the first time, canceled the right to use for one month for the second time, and canceled the right to use permanently for the third time; if the violator violates the above specification, resulting in the damage of the instrument, the violator shall pay compensation to repair the instrument and stop the right to use for one month. <li class="ed_txt">Level B: Each professor nominates one student for training, while the rest operate under those who have been trained. Professors with multiple students using the instrument can request an increase in the number of students receiving training.</li>

</div>Management and Usage<div class="ed_model01 clearfix">
<div class="ed_txt"><strong>Instrument usage regulations</strong></div>
<ul>
<li class="ed_txt">Before booking this instrument, please discuss with the instrument manager whether your experimental samples and design meet the instrument's measurement range. This includes, but is not limited to, informing the manager about:
<ul>
<li class="ed_txt">Sample type (coverslips or other materials)</li>
<li class="ed_txt">Fluorescent dye (excitation/emission) wavelengths</li>
<li class="ed_txt">Observation of infectious or isotope samples is strictly prohibited.</li>
<li class="ed_txt">Recommended coverslip size: 35 x 35mm or larger, thickness 0.13-0.19mm.</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li class="ed_txt">Before using the MTI-SMFM, please provide fluorescence spectroscopy experimental data and discuss with the instrument manager to confirm compatibility. If no relevant data is available, please book the fluorescence spectrometer in this facility for testing.</li>
<li class="ed_txt">Operate the instrument according to standard procedures. Comply with instrument usage rules.</li>
<li class="ed_txt">After continuous operation for 4 hours, the instrument must rest for at least 1 hour.</li>
<li class="ed_txt">Keep the instrument clean after use. Complete the usage registration form and notify the instrument manager for on-site inspection.</li>
<li class="ed_txt">In case of instrument malfunction:

<li class="ed_txt">Immediately inform technical personnel</li>
<li class="ed_txt">Do not disassemble the instrument</li>
<li class="ed_txt">Quickly report failure details to the technical operator or manager</li>

<li class="ed_txt">USB data access is strictly prohibited. Violation will result in usage rights suspension. Do not store data on the computer. Bring your own DVD for data storage.</li>
<li class="ed_txt">If a paper is published using this instrument, one usage fee (2 hours) will be waived.</li>

<div class="ed_txt"><strong>Instrument Management</strong></div>
<ul>
<li class="ed_txt">The instrument is managed by the faculty members from the Institute of Molecular Medicine & Bioengineering, who will collectively discuss management personnel, fee standards, and usage matters.</li>
<li class="ed_txt">Educational training for the instrument will be announced and implemented only after recommended users are endorsed by a professor. Training may involve a nominal processing fee if necessary.</li>
<li class="ed_txt">One instrument manager is appointed to oversee equipment management and peripheral environment maintenance. Future additional personnel will be determined based on usage conditions.</li>
<li class="ed_txt">Instrument billing is time-based, with reservation time as the starting point. Reservation must be made one week in advance. Cancellations must be made at least three days before the scheduled use date, otherwise full reservation time will be charged.</li>
<li class="ed_txt">No additional components may be installed, system settings altered, or software installed without the instrument manager's explicit consent.</li>
<li class="ed_txt">Users must verify system normality before each use, accurately log usage in the registration book, and restore the instrument to its original state. Any issues should be immediately reported to the instrument manager to avoid usage disputes and clarify responsibilities.</li>
<li class="ed_txt">Violation of these regulations may result in the manager suspending the user's usage rights. If improper use causes instrument damage, the responsible laboratory head will be liable for related compensation.</li>
