The Varioskan LUX is a composite analysis system that detects full-wavelength absorbance and fluorescence. It covers various detection wavelengths, including visible light, luminescence, and fluorescence. The system uses a Xenon flash lamp as its light source. It has a built-in micro dispenser and support analysis applications for 6 to 1536-well plates.

- Wavelength range:
- Absorbance: 200nm to 1000nm; Path Length is 1nm.
- Fluorescence: excitation range from 200nm to 1000nm, emission range from 270nm to 840nm.
- To effectively measure fluorescence, the wavelength between the fluorescence excitation and absorption should be at least 18nm if the excitation bandwidth is 5nm. For instance, if the fluorescence excitation wavelength is currently set at 400nm, the absorption wavelength must be at least 418nm.
- On the other hand, if you choose a 12nm excitation bandwidth, the wavelength between the fluorescence excitation and absorption should be at least 25nm. In this case, assuming that the fluorescence excitation wavelength is set to 400nm, the absorption wavelength needs to be at least 425nm for effective measurement.

- The volume range must cover 2 ~ 5,000 μl, and the accuracy must be <0.2 μl.

- Data output supports Excel, PDF, XML, and TXT formats; instrument operation reports (Log files) can be exported to track instrument usage.
- This machine is available on demand.
- After use, please make sure to check if the plate has been taken out and the holder has been returned to the machine. Also, remember to turn off the light source.
- If you're using the default parameters, please save a new file first to avoid overwriting.
- By using the shaking function, you can utilize the well volume up to 200μl.
- When using the dispenser, remember to prime and empty it, and keep the pipeline clean.
