【Mass Spectrometer Facility Announcement】
  • 2023/06/06 – GCMSMS and LCTQD in Room 647 of the Library, Information & Research Building have been resumed, and analysis services are open.
  • [GC-MSMS, LC-TQD] 05/11 (Thursday) – 5/16 (Tuesday) The instrument will be relocated. After the relocation, the machine will be restored and the service will be available.

Mass Spectrometer Service Application Procedure

  • Technician Operation Service
    • Submit Request
    1. Please contact the Center by phone (#67382) or mail stating the sample type, quantity, and analysis details.
    2. After reviewing and approving the application, the center administrator will make an estimation based on the charging fee standards.
    3. The case will be officially initiated Once the applicant agrees to the quotation.
    • Sample Submission
    1. Upon receiving the notification of sample submission, the applicant should follow the standard procedure for sample pretreatment or request pretreatment services.
    2. Before sending the samples, please contact the Center and complete the commissioning service form.
    • Mass Spectrometry Analysis
    1. Upon receiving the samples, the staff will notify the applicant of the expected analysis schedule (in order of sample receiving time at the Center).
    2. Samples will be analyzed within the schedule, and a data report will be provided upon completion.
    • Payment
    1. The Center will issue an invoice after the applicant confirms the results
    2. Please make the payment within the specified period.

    • Obtaining Certification
    1. Users should obtain self-operating qualifications according to the Center’s certification process.
    • Reservation
    1. Please visit the “Instrument Reservation System” to make a reservation and follow the related regulations.
    • Instrument Operation
    1. Operate at the scheduled time and follow the relevant regulations.
    2. After the experiment, please perform system recovery and fill in the instrument use record.
    • Payment
    1. The administrator will record the usage hours.
    2. An invoice will be issued according to the charging standards.
    3. Please make the payment within the specified period.

  • Weekday License:
    1. First, watch the instruction video of the instrument.
    2. Attend the hands-on training course held by the center every semester.
    3. Pass the instrument operation certification exam (can re-test once)
    4. If you do not pass the exam two times, you must attend the hands-on training course again to be qualified for a re-test.
    5. Operate the device three times under the administrator's supervision to gain the weekday license (Mon-Thurs 8:00 am - 5:00 pm).

  • Overnight and Holiday license:
    • Users must have completed six sessions on weekdays, and the administrator will authorize access to the system.
      1. Overnight Reservation Rule: Users must complete the initial setup and adjustment before 5 pm on the same day and confirm the machine settings and system running before leaving overnight.
      2. Holiday Reservation Rule: Users must contact the administrator before making a reservation.

  • Note
    • Each laboratory can have a maximum of two eligible personnel apply for certification. If there are more than two users, a request should be submitted to the administrator to increase the quota.
    • If a certified user has not used the facilities for over three months, they must reapply to the administrator for additional certification.
    • Any attempt to make a reservation without proper certification or unauthorized use of another user's account will suspend user privileges for the entire lab for one month.
